Job Description
Job Title: Sr UX Reseacher
Duration: 3-6 month contract
Work Location: Remote
Research Planning & Learning Objectives
- Partner with product teams to co-create research plans and prioritize learning objectives.
User Interviews & Testing
- Conduct weekly or bi-weekly moderated user interviews and usability tests using UserTesting.com or similar platforms.
- Engage with a range of customer segments to validate concepts and uncover user needs.
Synthesis & Insight Delivery
- Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Deliver regular research summaries and next-step recommendations to stakeholders.
Consultation & Prioritization
- Advise on research priorities across multiple product teams, which may include web, mobile, AI-driven, and retail systems.
- Flexibly support additional teams or initiatives as assigned.
Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure research is actionable and aligned with business goals.
- Share findings within knowledge management systems and facilitate team learning.
Example Focus Areas
- Usability testing of prototypes and live products (e.g., AI features, calculators, onboarding flows)
- Concept validation for new account creation and profile experiences
- Discovery of gaps and opportunities in financial health tools for key customer segments
- Validation of future-state concepts for digital platforms
Deliverables
- Weekly or bi-weekly research synthesis reports
- Moderated interview recordings and summaries
- Actionable recommendations for product teams
- Documentation and sharing of results with relevant stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement
- Product teams will participate in research planning and may observe user interviews.
- Contractor will share insights at the team level; executive presentations are not required.
Success Metrics
- Consistent cadence of user research and synthesis
- High stakeholder engagement with research activities and deliverables
- Effective validation of hypotheses and refinement of onboarding experiences
Tools & Collaboration
- Access to UserTesting.com, Insights Engine, and other necessary tools will be provided
- Close collaboration with product teams for research planning and insight generation
Additional Information
- The scope may evolve based on organizational needs; flexibility and adaptability are key.
Qualifications:
- Senior or Lead-level UX Researcher with 5–15 years of relevant experience
- Proficient with UserTesting.com or similar remote research tools
- Strong skills in generative research, interview moderation, and usability testing
- Experience balancing AI-driven and human-generated insights
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work independently and with diverse teams
